Every once and a while I gotta post a song that speaks to my core fanbase, fandom culture geeks like myself. This song is about one of that culture's most revered sci-fi films of the past decade, "Serenity", Joss Whedon's 2005 movie based on the canceled-after-only-one-season-by-the-idiots-at-Fox TV show, "Firefly". So if you're really interested in understanding the jokes in this song, you'll only have to sit through one awesome, hilarious, action-packed, 2-hour movie, and also maybe go to it's IMDB page and click around to find out what other projects Joss and the cast have been working on since then, which I pepper references to throughout the song. If you don't feel like doing any of that, just pretend this is one of those quirky nonsense songs by TV's Kyle that for some reason is sung to the tune of "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" by Jason Mraz, also from 2005.

It should also be noted that this song idea was resurrected from the notebooks of my past thanks to the commenting listeners of my podcast "Bad Rapport", who demanded that this song become a reality last year during the "U Pick Luke's FuMP" event. To all of them, and to all the Browncoats everywhere, this one's for you. Music by Benjamin "Holy crap, I can't believe he managed to make that background track in only 6 days!" Stahl.

REQUEST "SNOOPY THE DOGG" FOR THE DR. DEMENTO SHOW!

My old school Snoop Dogg parody about "Peanuts" entitled "SNOOPY THE DOGG" was #2 on Dr. Demento's Top Ten for April 2011, making it the 2nd most requested song of the year thus far! So thanks so much to all of you blockheads out there who requested it! If you'd like to see it hit #1 on the Top Ten, and maybe even the 2011 Funny 25, then please REQUEST "SNOOPY THE DOGG" by the great Luke Ski for "The Dr. Demento Show" at http://drdemento.com/request .

And hey! Dr. Demento also recently played "SNEAKING SNACKS INTO THE CINEMA" by Flat 29, the great Luke Ski, & Carrie Dahlby! So all you celluloid Snickers smugglers can request for that to be replayed as well! As the boys from Flat 29 always say, "Get involved!" ;D

You can listen to the show anytime at http://drdemento.com/online.html, a new episode is posted every Saturday morning, and there are over 500 shows in their archive from the past 40 years to listen to.
